Young Glacier Voices

The glaciers in the Alps are melting at an ever-increasing rate. The Erasmus+ project “Young Glacier Voices” is making the consequences of the climate crisis tangible and encouraging young people to use their voices to call for more climate protection.

The Alps are particularly affected by the climate crisis, as temperatures there are rising twice as fast as the global average. As a result, the glaciers are melting at a rapid pace. More – and more effective – climate protection is needed, otherwise no glaciers will be left in the Alps by the year 2100. The Young Glacier Voices project aims to make this loss tangible and pass on climate knowledge, while encouraging young people to raise their voices for glaciers and climate protection.

Experiencing the last glaciers together: with two international camps, educational activities and awareness campaigns, the project aims to raise environmental awareness among young adults. It communicates scientific findings on the climate crisis and the role of glaciers in the climate system. Complex scientific data is transformed into engaging narratives by means of art and creative methods.
